Great music, festivals, and theatre are a hallmark of our Eastern Shore culture. Sit back in the back in the restored comfort of the Musquodoboit Valley Bicentennial Theatre & Cultural Centre. Home to the Kirk Logan Old Time fiddling Contest, the Bicentennial has a long history as a great live performance venue. The building was opened as a meeting hall in 1928 and Canadian greats like Wilf Carter and Don Messer appeared on the boards here in their heyday. These days you can catch a stand-up comedy act or a red-hot talent like George Canyon at the Bicentennial.
At the other end of the Eastern Shore, the contemporary surroundings of the Chedabucto Place Performance Centre invite you to spend an evening in one of their 300 seats being transported by entertainment from the Nova Scotia’s famous Men of the Deeps as well as rising stars from around the region.
Great performances aren’t limited to our theatres though. Our pubs and cafes often host musicians. Our parks, beaches, and waterfronts become venues in summer for music festivals and special concerts as well. Explore our arts & entertainment listings to find out what shows you shouldn’t miss when you’re on the Eastern Shore.
