Explore the Fundy Shore in Winter
An afternoon of skiing or an all-day outing to visit some of the area’s many waterfalls with their tumbling rush of water frozen in a work of art created by winter, these are the kind of activities that just beg to be followed by an evening fireside, reliving the day’s adventures. Ski Wentworth offers lots of opportunity for outdoor winter fun. The facility boasts a variety of alpine, and cross-country trails, and a half-pipe action. You can rent what you need and if you’d like to take a lesson, The Wentworth Snow School provides a handful of ski and snowboarding instructions for all levels. Winter brings a different kind of splendour to the region – one that’s just as breathtaking as our other three season thanks again to the power of the Fundy tides. Spend a day outside hiking the shoreline with your camera. The ice cakes and frost formations on the shore make great subjects for the keen photographer. No matter how you choose to spend your day, a bowl of rich Nova Scotia chowder served with artisan bread overlooking the winter tides of Advocate Harbour, for instance, is sure to warm your heart. Winter evenings are perfect for fireside drinks or an evening of live music in a small town theatre like the Marigold Cultural Centre in Truro. Many of our bed & breakfast and country inn operators welcome guests year-round and bustling restaurants.
