Visit the Anne Murray Centre in Springhill and schedule in time for a visit to the Springhill Miners Museum. Visit Nova Scotian animals of the wild like beavers and bobcats and bald eagles in the natural setting of the Shubenacadie Wildlife Park. Springhill Miners' Museum - Tour a Mine

Off Rte 2. Tour the depths of a Springhill coal mine, famous in song and legend, with a knowledgeable guide. Hear stories of the disaster of 1891, the 1916 subterranean fire which raged through the galleries, the loss of 39 men in the 1956 explosion and the major “bump” in 1958 which killed 75 men. Tidal Bore

A wave of water that moves upriver against the current twice daily as a result of the incoming Fundy tide. Popular spots for watching the tidal bore are: Salmon River, outside Truro; Hwy 102, Exit 14, to Rte 236 to Tidal Bore Rd; Caddell Rapids Lookoff; Maccan and River Hebert, Rte 242 to bridges; South Maitland at South Maitland Tidal Bore Look-off; or Maitland at Dawson Dowell Park Wharf.

Victoria Park

1,000-acre natural park with hiking trails, bandshell, outdoor pool, water spray park, playground, tennis courts, canteen, picnic area, washrooms and baseball field. A winding stream flows through a deep gorge, where there are two picturesque waterfalls: Joe Howe Falls and Waddell Falls. For a bit of exercise, climb Jacob’s Ladder (about 175 steps) to the top of a rocky gorge. Pic, P50, TO.
