We've built up a rich tradition of live theatre and musical performances that dates back to the earliest gatherings of the Mi'kmaq people, rising up through the arrival of the first Scottish immigrants aboard the Ship Hector in 1773. Today, you'll find concerts, festivals, and performances in a variety of media and genres all year round. Take in a show at the remarkable Glasgow Square Theatre, which transforms from a traditional theatre to an outdoor amphitheatre for summer events. Enjoy some of the literally hundreds of performances and dozens of productions staged by Festival Antigonish Professional Theatre at Saint Francis Xavier's Bauer Theatre. Or head to a small town ceilidh, warming up a winter's evening.
